A number of popular golf courses are worth visiting in Derry. The Benone Par Three Golf Course is a formidable course for any golf player. It is a 9-hole seaside course in Limavady. It is said to be Ireland's trickiest courses due to the various obstacles it puts up to thwart the attempts of golfers. Around here, if you are not on the fairway, you are most certainly in the rough. But this might be the best thing about this course. This course has been known to bring many good golfers down.

Castlerock Golf Club is a nice place to hone your golfing skills. The scenery is breathtaking to say the least and this really helps you enjoy the game. It is a 9-hole course that will delight you every step of the way. The fourth par-3 hole is the most famous here and is called the Leg of Mutton due to its shape. This is the sort of hole that you find challenging when you face it but are relieved to leave behind.

Foyle International Golf Centre boasts two golf courses. The Beeches course is an 18-hole parkland course. Woodlands is a 9-hole course. Both courses are located in a fine setting on the outskirts of Derry City. A fine clubhouse with licensed bar and restaurant and a floodlit driving range can be found here. A well-stocked golf shop caters to the golf shopping needs of the visitors. Club, trolley and buggy hire services are available. The 15th hole of the Beeches course is the most difficult hole at Foyle. It proves to be extremely challenging to golfers of all skill levels due to the two lakes and numerous bunkers. The 6th and 7th hole on the Woodlands course will prove to be tricky due to water coming into play.

Portstewart Golf Club also presents a reasonable challenge to most golfers with its two 18-hole courses, the Strand and the Town. These are good enough to compete with the best courses in Ireland.
