Over 40 years experience has fashioned the style with which you are greeted by the Britton family and their friendly, courteous staff at the Sandhouse Hotel.

The spontaneous warmth of their welcome radiates from the open log fire which glows from the period fireplace in the cosy entrance lounge. The homely, stress-free atmosphere of luxury and relaxation is adorned by displays of fresh flowers and many fine pieces of antique furniture.

An oasis of comfort and tranquility, the hotel has been described as "one of Ireland's west coast treasures'. It stands on the edge of the Atlantic Ocean overlooking Donegal Bay. Its unique rear garden is the vast, exciting and exhilarating ocean which laps onto miles of golden sands, including, of course the EU Blue Flag beach at Rossnowlagh.

Rossnowlagh is the ideal base for exploring the beautiful and rugged northwest, including Glenveagh National Park, Slieve League, Donegal Castle and the famous Magee of Donegal tweed shop and factory.

A golfers paradise with 3 excellent championship links courses nearby.

Originally a fishing lodge, the hotel has been transformed into a gracious and tastefully appointed top class hotel. Most of the antique filled rooms enjoy breathtaking views of Donegal Bay and there are several lounges with log fires to relax and unwind in. Enjoy dinner in our award winning restaurant, where seafood from the local unpolluted waters are our speciality.

Guests can appreciate both the majestic splendour and calm beauty of the sea from the comfort of the cosy and delightful Atlantic Conservatory. Here, one can relax and browse through books, or enjoy afternoon tea with delicious home-made scones and fresh fruit pies.

Individually and tastefully decorated and furnished to a high standard of comfort and decor, each bedroom uses co-ordinated fabrics and furnishings in a classic country house style. There are 45 en-suite bedrooms which vary in size. Many overlook the sea and a limited number have four poster beds.
