Rock Glen Country House Hotel | |
|
 |
Clifden, Connemara,
Co. Galway |
Description: The Rock Glen Hotel is situated on Ardbear Bay, just south of Clifden, on the west coast of Ireland. Originally built in 1815 as a hunting lodge, the Hotel has an unrivalled view of the Twelve Bens mountain range as you look over Ardbear Bay - the perfect location to get away from it all. |

Accommodation:
The 27 bedrooms all have facilities en-suite, 14 of which are on the ground floor. Each room has a TV, radio, trouser press, hair-dryer and direct dial telephone.
Lounge and Piano Bar:
At the end of a hard day's leisure, come in to the hotel bar where plump armchairs outnumber bar stools and a turf fire glows all year round.
You can enjoy an evening of musical entertainment with our resident pianist. Spontaneous sing-songs occur regularly, and you are invited to join in.
Amenities:
From the idyllic setting of the Rock Glen you can explore the many sandy beaches nearby, at Mannin Bay or Ballyconneely. Or why not take a trip to nearby Roundstone village, passing by the historic landing site of Alcock & Brown and, nearer the village itself, beautiful Dog's Bay.
Activities:
snooker and poolIf you're a golfing enthusiast you'll be delighted to hear that the spectacular setting of the Connemara Golf Club, an 18 hole championship course, is only a 15-minute drive from the Hotel.
Connemara is perfect for hillwalking, and for river, lake and sea-fishing. If you want to go pony-trekking (Connemara is famous for its ponies), we can arrange it for you.
We have a full-size snooker table, as well as an all-weather tennis court and croquet lawn for your pleasure. We can even arrange clay-pigeon shooting on request.
