The story of how this golf club was founded is quite interesting. The owner Tom Lawlor was on a farm fixing fence posts in 1986 when he had the idea of establishing a golf club. Undaunted by the discouraging remarks of everyone he discussed the idea. Tom stayed resolute in his determination and by dint of constant hard work, finally made his dream come true in 1993.
Ardfert golf club started with only 15 members but has grown over the years with the result that it has established quite a reputation for excellence. The limestone and sandy base of this course allows golfers to play here throughout the year. A stream and a lake form the natural hazards of this course. Trolley hire facility and bar snacks are available in the clubhouse here.
