Curragh Golf Club came into being in 1883 and is home to the oldest golf course in Ireland. The magnificent plain of Curragh is known for housing the largest military installation. This place is also the home of the Irish Race Horse Industry. The club has over a thousand members of which 650 men and women proudly enjoy a full membership. The whole course is built on an open grassland plain that enjoys the status of National Heritage area. The natural grass provides for excellent drainage. The course has 18 holes. These wide varieties of holes, due to their clever layout and placement, provide for some great golf action with enough challenges to satisfy any golfer. At first sight, it seems the course is quite amenable to wild hitting since there are generous tracts of ground between fairways. But grassy banks and trees force the golfer to use clever tactics in order to ensure victory, thus shattering the initial impression of this course being lenient. Over ambitious golfers have no choice but to re-evaluate their target score due to the natural vegetative hazards of this course.

The K Golf Club at Kildare Hotel and Country Club is an excellent place to experience breathtaking sceneries along with some passionate golf action. The club is home to two amazing 18-hole championship courses designated as the North and South courses. The North course was the venue of Ireland's First Ryder Cup. The course is widely regarded as one of the country's most challenging but even that warning won't prepare golfers for the extreme difficulty awaiting them on this course. In spite of all this, the course will prove to be very exciting for golfers of all kinds and will most likely help them in improving their game to championship standards. The South Course has been developed specifically to give a completely different experience when compared to the North Course. Most clubs with more than one golf course suffer from the problem of one great course overshadowing the lesser one. The South Course was designed for the express purpose of avoiding a direct comparison to the excellent North Course. The designer of the South Course largely succeeded in his efforts and the golfers come away from this course with an experience nothing like the North Course one. The South Course is best described as an inland links course with dune type mounds and fourteen acres of water hazards. This is a course that has to be experienced to believe its magnificence.
