The name Kildare is synonymous with the Sport of Kings and not only with racing the horses on the renowned Curragh Racecourse, but breeding the finest of equine thoroughbreds on the many prestigious stud farms in the county next door to Dublin. Owned by Sarah Chan, the establishment had carried the name of the Curragh Lodge Hotel, but last year its original and favourite name was restored. The Derby House Hotel has 20 bedrooms which are in the process of refurbishment. It is a warm-hearted, cosy, family hotel with home-from-home feel and appeal. It attracts visitors from all over the world.
