Limerick Golf Club

The foundation for Limerick Golf Club was laid down as early as 1891. This makes it one of the oldest golf clubs in Ireland. It's year of foundation coincides with that of the Golfing Union of Ireland. Golfers will find the holes to be quite varied as they have been designed by two well known architects, Dr. Alister McKenzie and John D. Harris.

After being founded, this club changed places a few times before settling in its present place at Ballyclough in 1919. The first two holes of this course are relatively easy but the third hole signals the beginning of the real challenge. This hole requires two good shots to reach the well-guarded green. The sixth hole is also spectacular due to the presence of a stream flowing through it, forcing golfers to think their shots through before committing to them.
