Description: County Louth Golf Club offers an exciting links course with an ample amount of bunkers suitable for all handicaps.
County Louth Golf Club is located at the mouth of the River Boyne in County Louth. The river runs towards the south of the course while the Irish Sea is located towards the East, making this a wonderful links course where you can sometimes hear the sounds of ships coming into the port.
The popularity of this course can be judged by the fact that it was venue for the 2004 Nissan Irish Open. This course is said to not suffer from any weak holes. The course was designed in 1938 and the course designer Tom Simpson was so confident about the natural terrain's ability to hinder golf players that he only employed fifty bunkers in the design of the course to act as hazards.
