Westport is situated in County Mayo, which is undoubtedly one of Europe's top angling destinations and is often described as a game angler's paradise. It also offers top class sea angling with some limited coarse fishing also available.
As one of Ireland's premier tourist destinations, Westport boasts an almost endless range of activities suitable for every taste.
Our staff are extremely knowledgeable on all of these activities and will be delighted to offer advice on equestrian stables, adventure centres, pitch and putt courses, scuba diving, hill climbing, walking tours and practically any other sport that come to mind!
There are countless other attractions available in and around Westport and Co. Mayo with Croagh Patrick's Information Centre in Lecanvey, The Museum of Country Life in Turlough, Kylemore Abbey near Leenane, Foxford Woolen Mills, Ballintubber Abbey and The Ceide Fields Centre in the north of the county foremost among them.
Every part of Co. Mayo boasts amazing scenery but in particular, Achill Island and the mountainous region around Leenane are not to be missed. There are also numerous Blue Flag beaches around the coast with Old Head and Bertra Beach the closest to Westport.
