The present golf course of Roscrea Golf Club was developed in 1911. It started life as a nine hole course and it wasn't until 1991 that this parkland golf course acquired nine more holes to attain compliance with championship standards. The drainage of this course is excellent thanks to the high gravel content in the soil on which the greens are based.
There are some truly fascinating holes here that will drive golfers wild with joy. The sixth hole is favoured by many visitors who love the idea of hitting the ball over the water to reach the green. The fifth hole is also remarkable with its fantastic fairway that is lined with mature trees. The thirteenth hole provides a stern test for the driving skill of golfers.
