Strabane Golf Club is located in the foothills of Sperrin Mountains. The River Mourne passes through the golf course here and proves to be a formidable water hazard. The 6th hole, aptly named "The River", features this water hazard in all its glory and proves to be a testing experience of golf. This par four hole is known for its potential to ruin the score cards of golfers.
This golf course has been designed by the late and great Irish course architect Eddie Hackett who has succeeded in achieving a wonderful layout for this course. Another hole that will try the patience and skill of golfers is the par three hole called "Graveyard". This tough hole features an elevated green protected by strategically placed bunkers.
