Mullingar Golf Club has been in operation since 1894. During the initial forty years of its existence, the club relocated many times but finally settled down on the charming hills of Belvedere in 1935. This golf course is considered to be one of the best golf course designs developed by the famed Scottish golf course architect James Braid.
Mullingar golf course has hosted many professional championship golf tournaments including the renowned Mullingar Scratch Cup. The mature trees on this superb parkland course act as formidable hazards that can easily ruin a good score. Anything other than a straight shot on this course can result in the next shot being a recovery shot so a lot of accuracy is required to avoid frustration on this course.
