Courtown Golf Club sports a very interesting layout located near the sea. Despite this fact, it cannot be classified as a links course. Quite the contrary, the landscape of this golf course is pure parkland. This golf course began life as a nine hole course in 1936. It was finally upgraded to 18 holes in 1974. The land on which the golf course is located was once a part of the Courtown Estate.

The trees on this course are planted in a very well designed pattern that is quite a joy to behold. The Courtown golf course is surrounded by forests on three sides. Every fairway here boasts a good number of trees to ensure that the golfers learn the importance of accuracy. The clubhouse here is luxuriously comfortable and affords really nice views of the course and the Irish Sea to the members and the visitors.
