Woodenbridge Golf Club boasts a fabulously designed golf course on a parkland landscape. The credit for this masterpiece goes to Paddy Merrigan who is famed as an excellent golf course architect. The backdrop at this golf course features wooded mountains that prove to be a very spectacular sight.
The River Avoca on this golf course acts as a great water hazard on ten of the eighteen holes. Some of the holes that deserve an honourable mention are the 6th, 8th, 17th and the 18th holes. The River Aughrim also comes into play on many of the holes. The trees have been planted quite strategically and the bunkers are quite numerous to keep the golfers on their toes at all times.
