The Brooklodge Hotel is the perfect sanctuary for a get-away-from-it-all golf break.
Within fifteen minutes drive you will find the sublime Woodenbridge Golf Club as well as Arklow and Glenmalure golf courses. Another ten minutes will bring you to Coollattin, Blainroe or the famous European, one of the great Links courses. Wicklow itself is now a golfing haven, housing such treasures as Druids Glen, Glen O'Downs, Powerscourt and Rathsallagh.
Local Activities
Surrounding Macreddin Village there are a wealth of outdoor activities many of which can be availed of at a gentle pace, so as you can truly enjoy the flora and fauna which makes this area of Wicklow so precious.
Walkers of all levels will revel in the choice of walks that can be undertaken whether it's a gentle amble along the country byroads or an invigorating cross country trek up the side of Cushbawn Hill to Three Wells, where legend has it that a trout caught from the wells would not cook. Or for the serious trekker - a stretch of the famous 'Wicklow Way' which passes within a few miles of Macreddin. Residents of the Hotel can be collected from and/or dropped out to this celebrated walking route and hearty packed lunches and sumptuous picnics can be arranged for residents and non-residents alike.
Other outdoor activities which can be arranged include field and clay shooting which can be availed of directly from the Hotel; angling, either for trout or salmon or deep sea fishing out of Arklow; adventure sports such as canoeing, orienteering, para-gliding, rock climbing or fun sports such as cross country quad biking. For the more sedate the are is a painters paradise and bicycles are available free of charge to Hotel residents. |
